R.I.P. Robin Williams

The news about Robin Williams is so very, very sad. I remember seeing him in Mork and Mindy when I was a child and he's one of those people I just expect to be there with a new film every now and then. He was a great actor and an amazingly talented man and it is tragic he has lost his battle with depression. My heart goes out to his family.

Bye, bye Peter Pan, I hope you find your Never-Never Land and remember your happy thoughts so you can fly.

What is your favourite piece of Robin Williams' work?
Mine is Bicentennial Man - it's in my top ten films ever made and I love it to pieces. It makes me laugh and cry and feel all warm inside.

  1. Such a tragedy. My thoughts go out to his family too. My favourite Robin Williams film is 'What Dreams May Come.' Such a beautiful film...

    1. It's still impossible to think of a world where there isn't going to be another film with the smiling, slightly crazy man in it. He brought joy to so many.

  2. It's been a while since I've watched any Robin Williams' movies. But I've seen a lot over the years and they were all so much fun. When hubby told me, I was shocked. It was hard to believe because all I have is happy memories from his movies. It didn't seem possible that he would commit suicide. But that's the scary thing about suicide. It gets people you'd never expect. There's been celebrity deaths that have made me sad, but this one really hit hard.

Me too - I usually see a celebrity deaths and feel sad for their families, but this one was like a punch in the stomach.

  3. This is so terrible. The world already feels so much darker without him. My favorite Robin Williams film will always be Hook.

    Beautiful post, Natasha!

  4. It's heartbreaking. I agree with Chrys, the world now seems a little bit darker without hi in it. :(

I don't think I've seen Bicentennial Man, I'll have to check it out. My favorite movie of his is either What Dreams May Come or Patch Adams.

    1. He gave so much light and joy to the world and he has clearly affected so many people.

Bicentennial Man will make you cry at least twice, but also laugh and want to reach through the screen and hug people.
