Today's free short is part 1 or 2 because this time it's me who can't seem to write a short story :). Telepathy, telekinesis and ice skaters ... I kid you not. Enjoy :)
Remember if you rate (award a medal) the story on the site you are entered into our $50 (or the currency of you Amazon site) Amazon draw. You can rate any of the stories at any time, only the download links go away. The name and email required for medal giving is so we can contact the winner, we won't be keeping it after the draw.
Rafe used to be a world class British figure skater until he hurt his knee, now he reports on the sport. Everything is normal at the special US/Russian/Chinese multi-sport games being held to celebrate the new economic treaty, until Louis Hayes, Rafe's one time rival, turns out to be anything but just the flamboyant skater Rafe thought he was.
Caught in the middle of a game of cat and mouse between sociopathic telepaths with psychokinetic powers and the military, Rafe has to rely on the tentative connection he has with Louis to save his life. That connection might also save Louis' sanity.
