YouTube - What They Don't Tell You
F is for Fortitude

My AtoZ theme this year is my YouTube journey with my new fiction channel, and all that I have learned - plus some free fiction - scroll down to the embedded vid for that.

YouTube is hard. The channels we watch that get served to us all the time are huge. The algorithm loves them and show them to us over and over again, and, sometimes, it can get a bit much when we see our own channel growing so very slowly.

Building up a subscriber list and a community around our channel is not an easy thing to do. It takes strength to keep going. I am assured there is a tipping point, that channels grow very slowly, then a bit quicker and then even quicker. I choose to believe this is true, since so many of the "How to grow.." advice channels seem to say so.

Fortitude is the answer. Bolster that strength. Look at other's success and think, that will be me, and keep slogging on. Keep climbing that mountain, because the view will be worth it.

Where do you find your inner strength? What do you like to use it for?

  1. Success is very tricky..sometimes lot of hard work , passion help but still one needs a dash of luck...am not good with YouTube...but I feel now-a-days people do stuff to become viral and overnight sensations.
    ..

In whatever I do I practise persistence and passion...am not great at marketing myself!

    1. It isn't even just individuals either, unfortunately vid farms which turn out dreck get millions of views by gaming the system. Very frustrating for those creators trying to bring great content to their audience.

  2. You know how it goes... And then one day you're trending and you have no idea why :-)

  3. I don't think we're trending (Ludo from Georges Guinea Pig World here). But Mummy says we don't put enough moving pictures on YouTube to trend. Mummy looked today (we have moving pictures for D and for R, for sure) and some of ours are hidden for some reason. The old ones are not very good quality, though. Perhaps these were worse.

    1. But you are so lovely to look at Ludo, I am sure you must have lots of people looking at your moving pictures. Thank you for dropping by again.

  4. I had never thought of using YouTube in this way - food for thought.

    1. There seems to be a lot of horror fiction on YouTube, but not a great deal of anything else. Maybe we should all start filling the void?

  5. I've worked with a coach on visibility and this is one thing she drilled into all of us - that we need to get used to the fact that there'll be crickets for a while, and we need to persevere before jumping to make changes. Not easy, but it does seem to be what those who've done it before have experienced.
