N is for ...
Half way through the AtoZ - hope we are all still having fun :). I have a few real nasty monsters for you today, so be ready.Scariness Rating
The little skulls by their name are my scariness rating as to how monstrous and scary I think the creatures are when seen in their films.
- 1 skull (not scary at all) - 5 skulls (very scary)
- and there is a special rating for a few - 5 red skulls (utterly terrifying)
Demon Nun (The Conjuring 2)
I so love a horror movie that can scare me and The Conjuring 2 can really do that - all because of the Demon Nun. She's so scary she has her own movie coming out soon too.Not only does she look creepy, but she is a full on demon, capable of causing what looks like poltergeist activity and taking over people. She is the physical form of Valak, a very powerful entity.
She is also quite capable of killing, but what she really wants is souls. She is very, very scary, coming out of pictures and appearing in shadows. She really gives me the creeps.
The Conjuring 2 is a movie all about the Enfield Haunting in the 70s, although it bears little resemblance to what actually went on, it's a good film. Be ready to hide behind a cushion though.
Niklas (Sint)
Sint is a Dutch horror film, with a hint of comedy. In this reality Sinterklaas was actually an evil bishop with a gang of looters, who was brutally killed by a mob for his villainous ways. When the date of his death coincides with the full moon, he and his goons return as vengeful ghosts.Niklas is an undead horror out to murder as many as he can as they celebrate Sinterklaas on the 5th December. His is virtually unstoppable and in a very bad mood.
Sint it a great film if you like scary horror. It is in Dutch, so be prepared for subtitles though.
Nezulla the Rat Monster
Nezulla is a murderous monster created by scientists in a lab. He is half human and half rat and all malevolence. Thanks to the tampering with his DNA he is also clever and bullet proof. When he escapes his containment, Nezulla has only one thing in mind, kill those who created him. He also seems to enjoy games as he kills those sent after him one at a time.
I have to admit, this is one movie I have not yet seen - I just can get my hands on it :(. But I want to.
Q: So which is worse, a demon nun or Niklas? Any N monsters I should know about?

ReplyDeleteOh no no no... leave Saint Nick alone, how dare they... and that too, to warrant five REDS??? no non ono.....(wanders away dismayed...) The ST reference today from me? The Nausicans pretty much live up to their name... the Numiri weren't overly nice either... YAM xx
Definitely St Nick! I mean, he is the guy children look forward to seeing every year, the patron saint of children, famed for his kindness to those dowerless girls. "Have you been naughty or nice? Never mind, you die anyway!"

Hi Tasha - I'd hate to see Nezulla - I've had enough of rats! Cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteI had the same thought!
DeleteI haven't seen any of the films that you've mentioned, and for good reason if they've got a red skull rating!
ReplyDeleteNowhere Left To Run by McFly
Is that a Dutch horror Santa?!?!
ReplyDeleteI was at a comic con recently where someone cosplayed the demon nun. It was more than a little disturbing.
The Multicolored Diary: Weird Things in Hungarian Folktales
I hadn't seen any of these before, and they all look pretty nasty!

The nun would freak me out big time and poor St. Nicholas Day which I still celebrate by placing goodies in my hubbies shoe. I’m not sure I could take either of those films or the rat monster
ReplyDeleteWell, if I'm going to be scared silly, I think I'll watch the Conjuring. Maybe...
